16th October 2010: OWE 6 – 0 Crosby Stuart

 

With 4 teams tying at the top of the league there was no room for error as OWE faced Crosby and fortunately no room for error was made (what prose I hear you say). Once the goal tally gets above 5 the means of describing each individual piece of skill run short – bit like the substitutions thing – and so in no particular order (except chronological) the goals were:-

 

1 – 0 George collects a goal kick with a lovely flick on and buries the ball with his left foot.

 

2 – 0 Should have been but UEFA ruled that the ball did not cross the line despite the Crosby keeper catching his gloves on the net as he “saved”.

 

Half – time

 

2 – 0 Lewis sends a long pass to Scott who is unmarked and knocks in.

 

3 – 0 The ball is forced through the middle to George Harrison who bags his second brace in consecutive games.

 

4 – 0 Scott nutmegs the keeper when a loose ball from Harvey’s free kick comes his way.

 

5 – 0 George makes it a hat-trick finishing a lovely run of play, Josh Fallows passing to Scott on the wing who crosses in.

 

6 – 0 Not to be outdone Scott gets his hat-trick hitting home a slightly wayward shot/perfectly placed cross (take your pick) from George.
