OWE 4 – 1 BURSCOUGH
They are still talking on the line about the goal that never was!!
Slow start by OWE and Burscough did all of the early pressing. The cry from the line was “Wake up and don’t all go for the same ball”. Burscough took the lead and this inspired OWE to up their game. This they did and George had a good header which just went wide. Harvey had a good shot that was well saved. At this point OWE were well on top and get a deserved equaliser, a great move from defence to attack ended with George slotting home. Harvey went close with a shot which hit the side netting. The 1st half ended 1 – 1 with OWE getting stronger as the half progressed.
OWE started the 2nd half as they left the 1st, forcing a corner ball. The ball was swung in and it was cleared off the goal line. Lewis played a ball through the middle and Marcus slotted the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net. All the pressure was from OWE, Josh had a great effort from 20 yards just went over the bar. It was only a matter of time before OWE scored again, Marcus tapped in from close range. One last flowing move ended with George shooting from 10 yards and giving the keeper no chance. After a stuttering start it became a stroll in the park for OWE against one of their fiercest rivals.
