West Lancs vs. Ormskirk West End Red

Once again, West End found it hard to start. It was only Nathan that fired a shot wide of the keeper’s right that gave them any trouble. West Lancs created chances of themselves. A few minutes later, they went ahead. A chipped ball from the centre was hit in with skill to give the opening goal. The later stages of the first half were when West End began to apply some pressure to West Lancs’ goal.

West End began the second half well and were looking to score the equaliser. George R kept their keeper busy with some shots just missing the outside of the post. As West End pressed for that goal, some fine work from the opposition almost caught us out. That would have been game over. With only a few minutes left, Lewis passed into an empty space for George R to run into. But he was denied a goal by a last ditch clearance.

MOM went to Matty who had an excellent game in defence.
